DESCRIPTION: Glossy and brilliant crystals of dark/ink blue Tourmaline crystals. These are ideal materials for cutting high saturated stones because they exhibit a characteristic close to that of very dark blue sapphire. Though some people have claimed to have heat treated this stone to a lighter shade of blue; I’m not sure of the procedures they used though. Stones are usually in long pencil-shaped crystals which are mined in locations near Niger state in central Nigeria.
